Shares or Tokens? The Two Worlds of Startup Investment (Boğaziçi University)

At the invitation of the Finance and Investment Academy, Sima Baktaş spoke in a programme held at Boğaziçi University's South Campus. Her session, "Shares or Tokens? The Two Worlds of Startup Investment — Differences and Legal Perspectives," examined the legal and structural distinctions between traditional equity models and token-based ecosystems.

The programme ran in a hybrid format — online on 19-20 February and in person on 21-22 February. As investment models evolve rapidly, the discussion covered why these differences matter for founders, investors, and the broader innovation ecosystem.
